Tips to Follow in Examination Hall
A calm and focused mindset, tension free environment and anxiety free mind is needed to do well in examination. Here the students also need to take care of the time, pattern of questions based on the difficulty level and level of confidence for their best performance. Some important tips are shared below to help the students to give their best performance in most of the tests and examinations.
Time Management is a must for attempting all questions of a question paper and also for a good score in the examinations. But often our beloved students take good preparation, do lots of revision of the syllabus but hardly learn to manage the time to write answers in the answer script. Then they spend most of the time to write some questions and some are remaining as untouched. Sometimes they spend more than one hour to write elaborately to write a few questions and then struggle to write other questions. So, the students need to manage their time equally in all questions based on their difficulty level and also keep some time to attempt those questions which are too tough.
It’s also an important thing to learn for the good performance of students in examinations or tests. The students need to divide the question paper at Examination Hall as
.First Priority- The answers of the questions properly learnt or known by the student (Direct Questions)
. Second Priority- The answers to the questions which can be written by the students based on their learnt concepts (Questions based on Concepts learnt by Students).
.Third Priority- The questions which are unknown or little known by the students (Questions based on Concepts not known by Students).
The students will proceed to answer questions based on their priority level and here they will minimize the wasting time on the questions which are not known or too difficult and thus can ensure their best performance.
It is also an important thing for the good performance of students in examination hall as the mind without focus and concentration cannot give it’s best and there will be more chances of silly mistakes and slip of pen. The environment of Examination Hall is quite different from the environment of our home, many students are attempting examinations together, unknown examiner and sometimes the environment is little bit tense and uncomfortable. Here only the Focused Mind can answer properly and the mind without concentration will waste time on other matter of the hall.
Management of Anxiety
Being nervous and anxious during examination hall is common to most of the students in spite of their good preparation and focused mindset. So, the students here need to learn to manage their anxiety or phobia related to examination. Especially entering in the examination hall and before getting the question paper, the students are really too anxious, too nervous and some of them become ill due to their Anxiety Attack or Panic Attack and thus cannot do well in writing the answers. Here the students can do Deep Breathing, Abdominal Breathing, Mindfulness Techniques or simply Backward Counting to shift their attention level from the situation and manage their stress and tension to a great extent.
Believe in Yourself
Always believe in yourself even the time of giving examination also because it’s only your self-confidence that allows you to attempt the unknown and difficult questions and try to solve those based on your known concepts and ideas. If you are lacking in self-confidence, the little bit difficult questions may make you anxious and you will not try to attempt those. Sometimes some unknown questions you can answer easily based on your known or learnt concepts. So, Believe in Yourself is a must in Examination Hall.
