According to the Mental Health Report of Adolescents published by WHO, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), characterized by difficulty paying attention, excessive activity and acting without regard to consequences, occurs among 3.1% of 10-14 year-olds and 2.4% of 15-19 year-olds. Eating disorders serious condition that affect both our mental and physical health. Often these disorders are associated with anxiety, stress, fear or depression. People suffering from this disorder often show abnormal pattern of eating- do not want to eat food or eat too much food, do binge eating associated with purging or simply start intense fasting. It is seen more in girls than the boys and it has high mortality rates than other disorder, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa ,Binge Eating are the different types of eating disorder.
Acute Stress Disorder- Signs and Symptoms
The parents or teachers often notice some signs in children which may be identified as the signs of children’s mental health problems like excessive tension, anxiety, fear or phobia in them . In Acute Stress Disorder, children feel numb or detached from one’s body, dissociation, irritability and hopelessness associated with nausea, palpitations, chest pain, headache or breathing difficulties. This disorder is often triggered by a traumatic event or highly stressed situation and the children and adolescents also feel eating difficulties, sleeping difficulties etc.
